A Naval Architecture project at Studio Delta takes a design concept with the specific client’s requirements to a technical level of development suitable for construction, using modern and well-tried methods.
Based on a thorough evaluation of the initial concept, a well thought out strategy will be implemented to lift the project to a level for construction.
The start of each project is a project evaluation of the concept. In this stage, the focus is on the feasibility of the technical requirements within the concept design of the vessel.
After a positive result, the naval architecture stage of the project will commence.
This stage comprises the well-known aspects of weight-, resistance- and stability calculations and the choice of the propulsion line.
However, the job of a naval architect comprises much more.
Integration of class and flag requirements form an integral part of the developments, in which all aspects will join seamlessly in the design.
In this integral approach, various analyses will be made, among which are de hull form design, weight- and resistance analyses, and the propulsion line choice and layout. Simultaneously structural feasibility, class and flag state will be carefully considered. By working close within the various disciplines within het team, the total project will be supplied in high quality and within time.
One important aspect will not be dealt with at Studio Delta without compromise.
That aspect is the seakeeping and seaworthiness of a yacht. Any yacht can be as glorious and appealing to a client and fulfil classification requirements marginally, but will this yacht possess the intrinsic seaworthiness that suits the sailing area and intended travels of the client?
Points of attention in this are for example the hull form, free board, stability reserve, side deck space, execution of closing appliances, escape routes, fire safety etc.
Studio Delta excells in the design of both steel, aluminium and composite hull structures. We are experienced in projects form light weight fast chaseboats to sturdy displacement superyachts sailing in all weather conditions.
The installation preparation of essential elements on board such as: anchor winches, cranes, doors, hatches, bow and stern thrusters, life raft and rescue boat arrangements.
Exterior deck outfitting, placing components of interest on the outside decks. Taking into account the exterior design and structural requirements of the yacht.
As a consultant we offer our services in naval architecture in refits.
These service handle lightship review and safety reviews, hull extensions and superstructure expansions and in many updates of technical outfitting items.
