Structural design & engineering

2

Studio Delta excells in the design of both steel, aluminium and composite hull structures. We are experienced in projects form light weight fast chaseboats to sturdy displacement superyachts sailing in all weather conditions.

During the structural design, materials for plating and stiffening for the hull deck and superstructure sides are defined.
The result will be a main construction plan of the vessel.

The construction material choice will follow form the function of the yacht.
The structural development will be done based on good workmanship, in which the materials will be calculated based on the requirements of the relevant classification societies and verified with the intended production methods.

Complimentary to class rule calculations, direct calculation methods such as FEM are used often as well to optimise structures.

We wish to emphasize, that defining materials for the construction is only the start of the work.
In the structural design, care is taken to implement the requirements of the other disciplines on board.
Part of this will be laid done in the Naval architecture design, but it asks for a high level of experience and expertise to achieve an integral design with interior, systems and other disciplines.
